The Typographic Desk Reference by Theodore Rosendorf

Beautiful book; not meant to be read cover to cover, but just as the title states, it's an excellent Typographic Desk Reference. The Typographic Desk Reference by Theodore Rosendorf is the perfect desk companion to help answer those type questions that show up throughout the day. What's a finial, what's a widow, what are charateristics of Venetian type? Among some of the type books I've read, I think the three following books work well together: The Typographic Desk Reference by Theodore Rosendorf, Thinking with Type: A Critical Guide for Designers by Ellen Lupton, and The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst. Reference, overview, and classic.
